Hi, I’m Rachel — owner of Rays in the Shade.

Before starting this business, I spent more than 15 years in corporate sales at Dell, managing major relationship accounts across Austin, including the Texas Department of Transportation, the University of Texas, and State of Texas agencies.

That background taught me the kind of sales I still believe in: listen first, understand the problem, give honest guidance, and build real trust.

After being laid off a few years ago, I realized I didn’t want to go back to a desk job that looked good on paper but made me miserable. I wanted to build something personal — something where I could work directly with people, use my eye for design, and help homeowners make confident choices for their homes.

Rays in the Shade grew from that decision.

Today, I help homeowners in Round Rock and the greater Austin area choose custom shades, shutters, drapery, and outdoor shade solutions. I bring real samples to your home, help compare options in your actual space, and guide the process from product selection to measuring, quoting, and installation coordination.

No big sales team. No showroom pressure. No mystery handoff. Just honest advice, careful work, and window treatments chosen for the way you actually live.
